Summit Talent Group Initiates Search for Vice President, System Communications

Summit Talent Group has been retained by SCL Health in Broomfield, CO, to conduct a national Vice President System Communications search (VP). SCL Health is a faith-based, nonprofit health care organization that operates 12 hospitals, more than 210 ambulatory service centers, home health care, hospice, mental health care, and safety-net services in three states.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer (CCMO), the VP fosters relationships and drives business performance through proactive advocacy, integration and community relations, branding SCL Health as the “health provider of choice.”

The incumbent will be an accomplished communications strategist with demonstrated expertise on mass scale initiatives in the areas of social media, digital content, internal communications, crisis communications, and public relations. Critical to success is elevating SCL Health’s brand and reputation; continuously reaching and educating a variety of stakeholders including physicians/providers, employees, and consumers; innovative public relations and internal communication strategies; leveraging shared content and paid advertising; serving as the system spokesperson; measurement of employee and consumer engagement; and support of the System’s mission, values, and culture.

The VP will coordinate and oversee communications activities at the care sites and related entities; identify opportunities to leverage system-wide efforts and deliver stories that thoughtfully promote attributes of SCL Health and its entire continuum of services. Responsible for system-wide content strategy, editorial calendar (internal and external) and community relations, the incumbent will work in a matrix environment in close partnership with marketing, philanthropy and care site leadership to ensure integration of marketing and communication programs.

The ideal candidate is masters prepared with a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or journalism or related field; with ten years of experience in a mission-driven healthcare setting that values communications as a strategic facilitator for growth and engagement.
