University Hospitals names Holly Ma as Director, System Nursing Education and Nurse Leader Center

July 1, 2019 – After partnering with Summit Talent Group on an extensive nationwide search, University Hospitals of Cleveland, OH has named Holly Ma as Director, System Nursing Education and Nurse Leader Center.

Ma comes to University Hospitals from Indiana University Health (IU Health), where she has spent the majority of her career. Most recently, Ma served as the Director of Clinical Professional Development and Education for IU Health’s Methodist and University Hospitals. Prior to her role as Director, Ma spent eight years as the clinical manager of interventional radiology, radiology nursing, and the vascular access team.

Prior to her managerial work at Indiana University Health, Ma worked for Hoana Medical, Inc. as Manager of Clinical Education. A Hawaiian company, Hoana Medical is the inventor of LifeBed, a revolutionary system for wirelessly monitoring patients. While working for Hoana Medical, Ma focused on training clinicians in how to effectively use this lifesaving system.

Ma received her MS in adult and continuing education from Indiana University in 2004. She completed her undergraduate nursing degree at the University of Indianapolis. Dedicated to education, Ma has published a number of posters and papers as well as participated on multiple advisory boards and education councils. She is well versed in LEAN methodologies and actively participates in both the American Organization of Nurse Leaders and the Association for Nursing Professional Development.

In her new role as Director, Nursing Education and Nurse Leader Center, Ma will use her love of education to inspire, innovate, and achieve. She will engage nursing professionals of all levels in the journey of continuous learning, education, and development. Additionally, Ma will oversee the newly developed Nurse Leader Center, which was designed to identify, select, and develop individuals who demonstrate potential, competency, and motivation for progressive leadership growth.

With locations throughout Northeast Ohio, University Hospitals performs 10.8m outpatient procedures yearly and discharges 142,000 annually. The system’s flagship University Hospital is a 1032-bed tertiary medical center, which is affiliated with Case Western Reserve University.
