Summit Talent Group Initiates Director, Medical Staff Services and Credentialing Search

University of Colorado Health (UCHealth) Memorial Hospital has retained Summit Talent Group to conduct a national search for the position of Director, Medical Staff Services and Credentialing, Southern Region. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of UCHealth Memorial Hospital, the Director will have oversight of a department of six FTEs, supporting the Southern Region’s approximately 1,200 physicians throughout four hospitals: Memorial Hospital, Memorial North Campus, Pikes Peak Regional Hospital, and Grand View Hospital, and multiple ambulatory locations.

With a geographic footprint that continues to experience significant growth and gains in market share, UCHealth Southern Region is investing in its infrastructure to be responsive to the needs of its highly engaged employed and community physician network.

Bringing a refined skill set to the role in the areas of relationship building, communications, continuous improvement and a track record of working in partnership with physicians and providers, the incumbent director will be both a change agent and a team builder, adept at engaging and mentoring the staff, as well as being a champion of service excellence.

The Director of Medical Staff Services will be involved with setting strategy at the regional level; developing and implementing departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Further, the Director will be responsible for the optimizing the utilization of the Morrisey credentialing software platform.

In addition, the Director will lead and evaluate departmental operations, including: budgets, resource management, processes evaluation, service level determination and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives — ensuring the department’s activities and resources align with the mission, values, and objectives of the UCHealth.

The ideal candidate will have earned a bachelor’s degree along with dual certifications by the National Association of Medical Staff Services as a CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Staff Management) and as a CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist).

In addition, five years of medical staff office leadership experience in a complex community and/or academic environment is required, and exposure to a centralized CVO (credentials verification office) model, is highly valued.
