After a national executive search, University of Colorado Health has selected Stephanie Russell as the new Director Medical Staff Office for Memorial Hospitals, including all entities in the Colorado Springs Region.

For over 30 years, Stephanie has been an executive Medical Staff Services professional, with the past 25 years at SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health, overseeing medical staff affairs, including medical education, bylaws, regulatory compliance and accreditation, health system credentialing for both hospital and health plans, credentialing service contracts for outside entities as well as delegation agreements and audits. She has held progressive titles at SwedishAmerican, including Manager of Medical Staff Services and the Credentialing Department; Credentials Supervisor, and Credentials Coordinator. Previously, Stephanie worked at OSF/Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL, as the Medial Staff Coordinator.

Stephanie earned an AAS degree in Medical Staff Management from National American University and a BS in Management Studies from Rockford University.  She is a Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM) and Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS).

She is a NAMSS instructor and has made many presentations at State and National Educations conferences throughout the country on topics related to credentialing, privileging, professional development and regulatory compliance for both NCQA and Joint Commission.  She was instrumental in creating the newest NAMSS course on Leadership and recently co-authored the seventh edition of Verify and Comply. She has also been a collaborator and coach with Team Med Global for the past ten years.
