Summit Talent Group Completes Executive Search for Director of Neonatal Services at Rady Children’s Hospital NICU

Summit Talent Group is pleased to announce the successful completion of the executive search for the Director of Neonatal Services at Rady Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Department. Becca Schiff, an exceptional nurse leader and healthcare consultant, has been appointed to this crucial role.

Becca brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Most recently, she served as a Senior Clinical Consultant and Coach at Inspire Nurse Leaders. In this role, she has consulted for various organizations, including a large Magnet organization, a pediatric hospital, and a health system in California. Becca specializes in restructuring and aligning clinical operations with national best practices.

Becca has been actively involved in project work that contributes to the improvement of care delivery. Noteworthy projects include her ongoing DNP project focusing on special education services, as well as her role as the Special Education Parent Advisor, aiming to improve communication among parents and caregivers.

She has also been a part of quality improvement projects such as CLABSI prevention, reduction in unplanned extubation, and the development of standardized approaches for initial fluid management in the delivery room.

Becca has been recognized as a keynote speaker at the International BALI conference, presenting on optimizing nursing care for successful CPAP delivery in preterm infants. She has also contributed to publications, including an article in the Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Care.

Prior to her consulting practice, Becca worked at Texas Children’s Hospital, a nationally ranked, 973-bed women’s and children’s hospital affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine. In her role as Assistant Clinical Director of Nursing, Becca led clinical operations for NICU IV and NICU III. She provided oversight for over 5000 deliveries per year and led initiatives to reduce lengths of stay and empower nurse leaders to lead quality improvement projects.

During her tenure, Becca also took on interim responsibilities for the NICU Quality Department, demonstrating leadership in operational and quality matters. In previous roles at Texas Children’s Hospital, Becca served as Assistant Clinical Director of Nursing for NICU IV and as Nurse Manager for Newborn Center NICU IV.

Her career began as an NICU RN at Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, TX where she served as Neo Response Nurse and Transition Nursery Nurse.

Becca Schiff is set to graduate from UT Health Science Center in Houston, TX, with a Doctor of Nursing Practice-Executive Leadership. Her educational journey includes a Master’s in Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX.

Her DNP project focuses on improving communication and coordination of school district resources for children receiving special education services.

Becca holds certifications in NE-BC, RN, NRP, BLS, and is Certified in Quality and Safety by IHI. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Becca is actively involved in volunteer work, serving on the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC), as a Synova Faculty member, March of Dimes Executive Leader, and a volunteer for various organizations advocating for women’s health.
