Bon Secours Mercy Health Names Kathleen Black as Chief Nursing Executive Greenville

May 13, 2019 – Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) has completed a nationwide search for Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) Greenville. The search, conducted by Summit Talent Group, took place earlier this year with a focus on the best nursing leaders from faith-based and not-for-profit systems.

Kathleen (Kathy) Black comes to BSMH after serving as Chief Nursing Officer for Orlando Health’s Dr. P. Phillips Hospital since 2013. Prior to the role of CNO, Black held multiple roles at Orlando Health during her nearly 20-year tenure there. In 2017, Black was named to Becker’s “60+ Hospital and Health System CNOs to Know” list.

In her new role as CNE of Greenville, Black will be responsible for nursing practice across the care continuum, which includes two acute care hospitals (St. Francis Downtown and St. Francis Westside), home care, hospice, and an extensive network of ambulatory clinics. Black’s leadership will strengthen and extend the ministry within the Greenville community, bringing good help to those in need.

A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Black earned her MSN in 2003 and her BSN in 2001. She currently takes classes towards her DNP. Black has won several awards for her work at the hospital and system level.
