Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSM Health) has retained Summit Talent Group to conduct a national search for the position of Vice President – Enterprise Risk Management (VP ERM). This position reports to the Chief Enterprise Risk Officer, tasked with driving scalable enterprise risk management strategies throughout the health ministry. The ERM team focuses on three key areas: mitigation (assessment & reporting); prioritization (velocity & contagion); and integration (strategy, operations, & patient experience).
The VP ERM collaborates with audit, corporate responsibility, special investigations, and revenue cycle compliance department colleagues; in addition, the incumbent supports the Audit & Compliance Board Committee and has shared capability ownership with key enterprise functions of legal, data analytics, information technology and strategy.
The ERM function defines success as “building for the future of healthcare” by value creation and protection of people and assets, balancing risk/opportunity/performance management – aligned with BSM Health’s Strategic Pillars: improve community health and well-being; deliver clinical and operational excellence; strengthen culture and capabilities; innovate and grow.
Critical to the VP ERM role is the ability to adroitly “connect the dots” where data & metrics intersect with acceptable levels of risk, trends, early warnings, operational variances, predictive and non-related events within rapidly changing markets and conditions. The incumbent will therefore be highly skilled at preparing written briefs, delivering management presentations, and modeling data for a variety of stakeholders on Key Risk Indicators.
The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree and seven years’ experience in large, complex organizations, managing enterprise data, analysis, and risk. The candidate will embody a “teachable spirit” and will be skilled at collaborating with subject matter experts. An understanding of the healthcare reimbursement system & related regulations is highly valued.
