Wyoming Medical Center (WMC) in Casper, WY, has retained Summit Talent Group to conduct a national executive search for the position of Associate Vice President (AVP) Revenue Cycle, reporting to Yvonne Wigington, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.
WMC is the most comprehensive and complex hospital system in the state of Wyoming, serving as the regional referral center for a population of 250,000, with the only Level II trauma center in WY. The organization is financially strong, continuingly making strategic capital investments, and focused on expanding its physician and telemedicine network.
The AVP serves on the SVP/CFO’s leadership team with the VP Financial Services & Supply Chain Management, collaborating on financial statements, cost reports and analysis. Leading a team of 125 professionals, revenue cycle services supports the operations of: WMC Central & WMC East Campus and the physician enterprise.
The incumbent will be well versed in management of: Central Business Office, physician billing, patient financial services, patient access, centralized scheduling, HIM, transcription, coding and medical records. Key to success in this role is the integration and standardization of revenue cycle processes, staffing alignment, and information technology system conversion.
Strategic: well-developed leadership and budget skills, not only in interfacing with physicians and executives, but equally with staff, bringing a track record of talent management excellence in training, career development, employee engagement and service excellence resulting in economies of scale and financial success as related to revenue cycle activities.
Operations: directs billing services including the development and administration of policies on insurance, account handling, collections, and claims processing.
Compliance: closely monitors accounts receivable, billing, contractual obligations, coding, documentation, payers, claim denials, and inquiries/complaints to ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards.
The ideal candidate will have earned a bachelor’s degree with five years in a leadership position in revenue cycle in either an acute care, consulting, and/or outsourced revenue cycle services company. Highly valued are candidates with knowledge of ICD-10 & CPT coding, Cerner, and having professional certifications: HFMA, CHFP, or CRCE.
