Summit Talent Group Completes Regional Vice President of Human Resources Executive Search
July 10, 2017: After a national search, Texas not-for-profit health care system Baylor Scott & White Health has selected Carlos Garcia as the new Regional Vice President of Human Resources for Central Texas.
Carlos Garcia comes to Baylor Scott & White from The Home Depot in Dallas, Texas, where he was the Regional Human Resource Director since 2014, responsible for 120 retail locations and 18,000 associates across New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. Prior to The Home Depot, Carlos held the position of Regional Human Resource Director at Ross Stores Inc. in Dallas, Texas.
Previously, Carlos held progressive human resources roles at Walmart Stores, culminating with his position as Senior Director, Human Resources for Sam’s Club, leading four regions – 11 states, 260 clubs, and 150,000 associates. As Senior Director, Carlos led the strategic development and implementation of Human Resource initiatives across the division targeting talent development, performance management, engagement, Human Resource operations excellence and associate relations. During his tenure at Walmart, Carlos also had experience in organizational development, recruitment, succession planning, and human resources strategy.
Carlos earned a Master of Arts in in Organizational Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Ashford University. Carlos has also been a Certified Professional in Human Resources since 2005. He has been through multiple professional development courses with both Walmart University and Home Depot University, including Change Management, Valuing Cultural Differences, Creating a Global Mindset and Multi-Channel Strategy.
