Summit Talent Group Initiates Vice President Human Resources Executive Search

Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH) has retained Summit Talent Group to conduct a national search for the position of Vice President – Human Resources (VPHR). VPH is one of the largest acute care facilities in the San Fernando Valley, offering a wide range of medical expertise and leading-edge technology with more than 500 physicians representing virtually every specialty and most sub-specialties.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the VPHR is a member of the hospital’s executive team, overseeing a team of 14 human resource professionals, facilitating a culture of mission-orientation, high-reliability, and purposeful work all employees.

The VPHR will have a true passion for working in an independent hospital, embodying a spirit of “making a difference every day” in serving employees, patients, families, and the community.

Critical to success in the role is a penchant for the development of robust analytics & metrics; process improvement & standardization; consistent & repeatable processes; innovative strategies targeting service delivery; employee engagement; and stewardship of finances. The VPHR aligns human resources objectives with the hospital strategic plan.

The incumbent will be an accomplished generalist with demonstrated experience in the areas of employee & labor relations; benefits & compensation; talent acquisition; and workforce development. Employee retention, California employment laws, HRIS optimization, and employee health & wellness are areas of focus in leading a high- level functioning human resources team.

The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree and/or other HR certifications. At least seven years of HR leadership experience in an acute care environment, coupled with a vision for an adaptive HR infrastructure that responds to the challenges of healthcare delivery of costs, service, and engagement, is highly valued.
