Summit Talent Group Initiates Search for Vice President/Associate Chief Nursing Officer

University Hospitals (UH) has retained Summit Talent Group to conduct a national search for the position of Vice President/Associate Chief Nursing Officer (VP/ACNO) – UH Seidman Cancer Center (SCC). University Hospitals (UH) is an integrated network of 11 community medical centers and three joint venture hospitals; a $4b comprehensive health system with more than 23,000 physicians and employees, 1 million patients, and a national reputation for providing the highest-quality care, serving 16 Northeast Ohio counties.

Located on the main campus of University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (CMC) in Cleveland, OH, SCC is an NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, with 130 inpatient beds, offering all UH cancer services under one roof to optimize patient-and family-centered care, providing the latest therapies, enhanced collaboration, clinical research, and education. Additionally, cancer care is provided at 19 ambulatory sites.

The VP/ACNO will report to the President of SCC with a dotted line to the CNO at CMC and will have responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership of all nursing services in SCC, including inpatient, ambulatory services, infusion services, and twelve cancer sub-service lines. The incumbent oversees the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of models, processes, and standards to improve nursing operations, nursing practice, care delivery, quality of care, patient safety, patient experience, and care management across the oncology care continuum in keeping with the UH mission, vision, and core values.

Critical to the role of VP/ACNO is the ability to lead cultural transformation and provide directional guidance to meet the high patient care & clinical education standards of the cancer center. The incumbent develops the goals, implementation plans, and performance strategy to deliver quality and safety as part of cost-effective and consistent care across the continuum.

The ideal candidate will be an RN with a master’s degree and 10 years of demonstrated leadership experience at an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center. Experience in standalone and academic healthcare environments is highly valued.
