Summit Talent Group Completes Executive Search for Vice President, Talent Management

March 19, 2018: After a national executive search, University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) has selected Lori Burt as the new Vice President Talent Management. UMMS is a university-based regional health care system comprised of 14 hospitals and more than 150 locations throughout Maryland.

Lori comes to UMMS from Stanford Health Care, a three-hospital system in Stanford, CA, where she served as Administrative Director, Talent Acquisition and Compensation. While at Stanford, Lori improved employee engagement scores by over 30 percentile points in one year. Utilizing Lean methodology, Lori restructured their Talent Acquisition department to streamline efforts and create standardization.

Previously, Lori held multiple positions at Dignity Health, including Regional Director, Talent Acquisition; Director, Talent Strategy; and Manager, Recruitment and Retention. Prior to Dignity, Lori was Director of Talent Acquisition at Lovelace Sandia Health System. Lori has also worked at CHRISTUS Spohn Health System, HealthStar International, Van Alstyne Independent School District, and Diversified Human Resources Group.

Lori earned a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, TX, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University in Denton TX. She has been a speaker at the Talent Management Alliance Talent Summit and the Dress for Success International Conference.
