Summit Talent Group Completes Executive Search for Associate Chief Medical Officer

January 24, 2018: After a national executive search, Doctors Community Health System in Lanham, MD has selected Dr. David Press as the new Associate Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Press comes to Doctors Community Health System from MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, MD, where he has been Medical Director since 2014, and served as a Hospitalist since 2012. While at Montgomery Medical Center, Dr. Press developed and collaborated on programs to maximize productivity, profitability, patient safety, and effectiveness while improving patient care and experience. By developing and standardizing the process, Dr. Press was able to reduce denial rate and length of stay, and improve readmission rate, resulting in increased patient satisfaction scores and a reduction in lost revenue.

Previously, Dr. Press was on the rapid response team at Virginia Hospital Center and worked as a research analyst for the Center of Biosecurity of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, an independent, nonprofit organization of UPMC located in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Press earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rochester and completed his Medical Degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He interned at MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore then went on to complete residencies in Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.
