Summit Talent Group Completes Director, Perioperative Nursing Executive Search

March 2023 – Summit Talent Group is pleased to announce the placement of Adonis Taylor-Watson as the new Director, Perioperative Nursing at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, one of the world’s leading institutions for cancer care, research, and education.

Adonis Taylor-Watson has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry with a focus on perioperative services. In her most recent role as Administrative Director of Perioperative Services at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball, she oversaw an interdisciplinary team of over 100 surgical services members, including an OR Director, OR Manager, PACU Manager, SPD Manager, ASC Manager, and Clinical Nurse Coordinators. She was responsible for regulatory readiness, infection prevention, policy formulation, recruitment and retention of team members, marketing to surgeons, development of future leaders, operative innovations, and maintenance of productivity levels.

Under Taylor-Watson’s leadership, the Main OR performed 400+ cases per month, the ASC performed 250+ cases per month, and Endoscopy performed 350+ procedures per month. She implemented strategic plans for a hip fracture program and an ESR program, in collaboration with leaders throughout the facility, and marketed the ASC for Orthopedic, Endoscopy, GYN, and General procedures to increase surgical volume.

Previously, Taylor-Watson worked as an Administrator/Clinical Director at USPI-Memorial Hermann Surgery Center, where she oversaw a team of 50+ surgical services team members and managed a surgical volume of 550-650+ cases per month. She also worked as an Assistant Nurse Manager and Charge Nurse at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, where she oversaw daily operations of 15+ surgical suites and managed a surgical volume of 500+ cases per month.

Adonis has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of St. Augustine and is a member of several professional organizations, including current memberships in AORN (Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses), ANA (American Nursing Association), and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
