Summit Talent Group Completes Chief Nursing Officer Retained Search

April 2023 – Summit Talent Group is pleased to announce the completion of the retained search for the Chief Nursing Officer at University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center.

Lindsey Colangelo, MSN, RN, has been named Chief Nursing Officer of UH Ahuja Medical Center. Lindsey is a nursing professional with extensive experience in healthcare management and operations and has been with University Hospitals since 2013. In her most recent role as the Community Director of the Center for Emergency Medicine, Lindsey managed and developed strategic initiatives across 12 emergency departments, serving over 280,000 patients annually. She implemented Code Omega Capacity Plans, ambulance triage, and created COVID-19 surge plans. She also managed the UH System-wide ED Ligature Risk Modification Project, and standardized EKG processes.

Prior to this, Lindsey was the Manager of Nursing Operations at the Ahuja Medical Center, where she oversaw strategic and operational initiatives across the 144-bed acute care facility and a 42,000-visit emergency department. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as Operations Section Chief in the Hospital Incident Command Structure and developed masking protocols, alternative care spaces, and entrance screening processes.

Lindsey earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Akron and a Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She holds several certifications and has received awards for Clinical Nurse Excellence in 2013 from University Hospitals and Faces of Care in 2019 from the Greater Cleveland Nurses Association. Additionally, she presented the publication “Personalized Care in the Hospital, At the Patient’s Fingertips” at the Next Generation Patient Experience Conference in December 2022.

Throughout her career, Lindsey has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, building strong relationships and helping to improve engagement and satisfaction throughout the emergency departments. Lindsey is a skilled collaborator, communicator, and problem solver, and she is committed to improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
