August 28, 2017: After a national search, University of Colorado Health has selected Rochelle Armola as the new Director of Trauma Services for UCHealth Memorial Central and North Hospitals.

Rochelle most recently held the Director, Trauma Services position for Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA a state-designated Level I Trauma program with over 3,600 annual adult and pediatric patients. She was also responsible for overseeing trauma research at the M. Gage Ochsner, M.D., Institute for Injury Research & Prevention.
Previously, Rochelle managed the trauma programs as Director of Trauma Services at both ProMedica Toledo Hospital and Toledo Children’s Hospital. She was also Clinical Nurse Specialist, Critical Care for five years. Prior to ProMedica, Rochelle held various positions at the University of Toledo Medical Center: Ambulatory Nurse Manager; Heart Failure Clinical Nurse Specialist; MICU/ICCU Care Coordinator; Heart Transplant Case Manager. She began her career as an ICCU Staff Nurse.
Rochelle earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Ohio and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Toledo. Additionally, Rochelle has been a Nursing Instructor at the University of South Carolina – Beaufort, and is a contributing editor for Critical Care Nurse, and a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Trauma Nursing, American Journal of Nursing, American Journal of Critical Care, Critical Care Nurse, and AACN Advanced Critical Care, as well as publishing multiple articles in the same and similar journals.
Rochelle has recently held memberships with the American College of Surgeons, Georgia Committee on Trauma Excellence, Georgia Research Institute for Trauma, Pediatric Trauma Society, Emergency Nurses Association and Society of Trauma Nurses. Further, Rochelle has presented at seminars around the country and won multiple nursing excellence awards.
