Bon Secours Health System (BSHSI) has retained Summit Talent Group to conduct a national executive search for the Senior Vice President / Regional Chief Medical Officer (RCMO), Bon Secours St. Francis Health System (BSSFHS). The position reports to the BSSFHS Chief Executive officer and has several critical matrix and collaborative working relationships that are crucial to this role to drive primary and specialty care clinical strategies, interdisciplinary processes, clinical quality structures, and achieving excellent outcomes for the organization. This includes the BSHSI EVP/Chief Medical Officer, BSHSI Chief Nursing Executive/VP Center for Clinical Excellence, and BSSFHS CEO Medical Group (BSMG).

Regional Chief Medical Officer Search

Aligning the continuum of healthcare services to the needs of patients and families is the primary objective of the Bon Secours St. Francis Health System Senior Vice President / Regional Chief Medical Officer (RCMO). Adept at engaging the employed and affiliated medical staff, as well as other clinical providers, this dynamic physician executive management position serves as the chief clinical strategist, orchestrating transformation, fostering innovation and driving the standardization of care with a focus on quality, access, safety, cost and the patient experience. Integrating all care processes of the healthcare delivery continuum, the RCMO takes every opportunity to communicate the voice of the patient to the hospital and medical group leadership, delivering healthcare services that keep the community healthy. The RCMO will be a leader in the creation and sustainment of Quality and Patient Safety throughout BSSFHS in a dyad partnership with the Regional Chief Nurse Executive (RCNE) and in concert with the entire Bon Secours Health System, by developing, implementing and monitoring systems and processes that ensure the highest quality of care, patient safety, high reliability, and evidence-based medical standards are practiced at the Bon Secours Health System. The RCMO serves at the local system interfacing with the Hospital Medical Directors hospital-based physicians and the medical group. The RCMO directs Quality and Clinical Effectiveness work including employing the tenets of high-reliability care and evidenced-based process improvement, Care Management, Informatics, Performance Improvement, Infection Prevention, Regulatory Compliance, and Medical Staff Office.

The RCMO and RCNE will have strategic local system level responsibility for critical operating decisions including strategy, tactics, budget development, financial management, staffing, and resource deployment, for the following areas: clinical process improvement, clinical transformation, electronic medical records, informatics, quality/patient safety endeavors, infection control, compliance, high reliability, and regulatory oversight for hospital-based physician contracts and medical staff relations (e.g. anesthesia, emergency department, hospitalists, pathology, and radiology), medical staff services, peer review, credentialing, and physician satisfaction and engagement. These are to be achieved working with and through the medical group as well as the Bon Secours St. Francis Executive Team.
