As Chief Operations Consultant – Interim Services for Summit Talent Group, Joe brings more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare organizations, including for-profit and not-for-profit health systems, acute, teaching/academic and specialty hospitals, managed care and physician practice management.
Joe has successfully transformed hospital operations by utilizing a unified culture of putting the “patient first” as well as continuously improving the focus of care coordination, throughput and improving operational metrics that matter: length of stay, readmissions, cost/case, case mix index and patient experience. Joe has a successful track record in the areas of expense management, service line and revenue development, care coordination, population health, clinical integration, and quality/service improvement efforts.
Some of Joe’s achievements include: formation and management of a 350+ member regional Clinically Integrated Physician Hospital Organization; revitalization of an Orthopedic Joints and Trauma Program that aligned the interests of independent, employed, and faculty surgeons; strategic cost reduction projects without harming quality or customer service; stabilizing Nursing Division through culture and process improvement to enhance productivity and retention and execution of several physician-hospital alignment strategies.
Joe has worked in multiple geographies across the nation, in competitive markets that require a focus on operational excellence and provider relations.
In July of 2016, Summit Talent Group was acquired by The Innovation Institute and FutureSense, becoming a member of its Enterprise Development Group (EDG) portfolio of health care service companies, adding depth to their offering of end-to-end people strategy and organization solutions.
