Summit Talent Group has been retained by Colorado’s largest and most innovative health system, UCHealth to conduct a national search for a dynamic, visible leader for the Senior Director Oncology Service Line. This is a regional role with leadership, coordination, integration, and direction for Oncology Services for UCHealth in Southern Colorado.
At UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central, the highest level of multidisciplinary care comprehensive cancer treatment is provided and is accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC), a program of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS). Moreover, The Cancer Care and Hematology Clinic has earned official certification as a Quality Oncology Program from the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI). This prestigious recognition demonstrates a commitment to excellence and ongoing quality improvement and is one of only three programs in Colorado that has earned this certification. The Senior Director Oncology Service Line will provide strategic and operational leadership in the ambulatory and community setting ensuring the provision of cancer care through oversight of staff, programs, and services. This position reports to the VP Operations & Chief Administrative Officer, with a dotted line to the Regional COO and will work in partnership with the Medical Director Oncology. Direct reports to this position include, three Directors , five Managers with a total of 145 FTE’s. Moreover, this role requires collaboration and leadership within a highly matrix model, which includes working closely with UCHealth leaders both locally and at system level, physicians, and staff, to assure continuous growth, coordination, and integration of oncology services.
A Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field is required for this role. The successful candidate will have five years of progressive management experience in oncology services within a complex, multi facility health system in a competitive market. Clinical training/background in an academically affiliated organization is preferred.
