The MCNE will report to Craig McCoy, President of BSMSF and have a collaborative relationship at the system level with the Chief Nursing Executive – BSM Health Atlantic Group.
BSMSF is one of several geographic markets that comprise the BSM Health Atlantic Group. BSMSF is a full-service health continuum comprised of two acute care hospitals, outpatient surgery and urgent care centers, physician clinics, a cancer center, home care and hospice care. The BSMSF market has a total operating revenue of $795m with more than 7,000 inpatient surgeries and 85,000 ED visits.
The MCNE serves as the executive responsible for nursing professional practice and standards of care, and is accountable for 24/7 nursing operations, regulatory, budget, and staffing (inclusive of over 1,000 nursing professionals) for the entire BSMSF market. In collaboration with the Atlantic Group CNE and the BSMSF Market CMO, the incumbent will facilitate the design of the new and evolving organizational structure.
Critical to success for the MCNE is the ability to drive quality outcomes and deliver a consistent experience of care across the continuum while adapting and tailoring system level strategic pillars, key performance indicators and destination metrics to meet the health and well-being needs of the communities served.
Within the patient care environment, the key areas of focus include: quality & safety; workforce development; clinical effectiveness & optimization; population health initiatives; professional practice & education; benchmark activities regarding transformation to value-based care delivery; productivity & Magnet standards; collaboration with physician leaders; and strong relationships with nursing schools & community partners.
Stylistically, the incumbent will gravitate to a mission-driven, faith-based ministry, be a true champion for the Just Culture, and be an advocate for the “voice of the nurse” – embodying a spirit of trust, visibility and energy.
The ideal candidate will have earned an MSN with a minimum of seven years progressive healthcare leadership experience, preferably the most recent two years in a senior level role, within a complex and competitive geography. The incumbent must be RN licensed in South Carolina or multistate privileged at the time of hire. Demonstrated skills in communications and collaboration are paramount.
