Summit Talent Group has been retained by Colorado’s largest and most innovative health system, UCHealth (www.uchealth.org) to conduct a national search for a dynamic, visible leader for the Director of Radiation Oncology & Cancer Supportive Services. This is a regional role with leadership, coordination, integration, and direction for Radiation Oncology and Cancer Supportive Services for UCHealth in Southern Colorado.

This is an exciting time to join UCHealth in this newly created position. The primary focus will be managing the day-to-day operations of the Radiation Therapy Department. In addition, the Director will oversee Cancer Supportive Services which include Nutrition, Social work, financial counseling, genetic counseling, and nurse navigation.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Oncology Services, and in partnership with the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology, this role has direct supervision of approximately 35 FTEs, including a Chief Therapist and Dosimetrist, providing radiation care to approximately 60-80 patients a day in two locations.
The Director of Radiation Oncology Services also functions as the key and highest-ranking leader for technical expertise in radiation therapy. Radiation therapy is an extremely specialized field, and the Director must function as a subject-matter expert.
The successful candidate will embody a collaborative leadership style while working in a highly matrix model with UCHealth leaders both locally and at the system level, physicians, and staff, to ensure continuous growth, coordination, and integration of clinical activities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in RT(T) or related field required. Graduate of an accredited school or college of Radiation Therapy with a current license as RT(T) required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Clinical experience as an RT is required, with a minimum of five years in a leadership role.
Licensure/Certification: Must be currently registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as RT(T) is required and annual renewal must be maintained.

Knowledge/Skills: Ability to use clinical equipment throughout the department, strong IS background with an understanding of the Radiation Therapy information system presently in use and general familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products. Knowledge of commonly used radiation therapy systems, both hardware (linacs, CT simulation technology) and software (record and verify system, treatment planning systems) required. Knowledge of all commonly used radiation therapy treatment modalities (3D, IMRT, IGRT, SRS, SBRT, DART) is required.
