Summit Talent Group Completes Executive Search for Institute Director

March 1, 2018: After a national executive search, Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) has selected Rhonda Long as the new Institute Director, Neurosciences. Rhonda has extensive experience in complex healthcare organizations throughout the United States.

Most recently, Rhonda served as Director of the Neuroscience Service Line for St. Luke’s Health System in Idaho, where she was responsible for the strategic planning for two sites – Boise Medical Center Neuroscience Center and Meridian Medical Center’s Neuroscience Program.

Previously, Rhonda held the position of System Service Line Director for Neuroscience for Centura Health System in Denver, Colorado, with 14 member hospitals plus affiliate hospitals. Rhonda has served in similar Neuroscience service line director positions at Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics in Tyler, Texas, Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. At Christus Spohn, Rhonda also directed Orthopedics, and at Trinity Mother Frances, she had additional responsibility for the Orthopedic and Cardiovascular service lines. Rhonda has also spent time as a Neurosciences consultant at BE Smith and Corazon.

In addition, Rhonda held the position of Corporate Director of Quality and Clinical Outcomes Management at Shriners Hospitals for Children’s international headquarters. Rhonda’s clinical and early leadership career includes nine years at Tampa General Hospital’s Cardiac Surgery Unit and The Moffitt Cancer Center (opening team).

Rhonda earned a Masters of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida. She is currently on the Fellowship Track as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
