Summit Talent Group Initiates Search for Senior Vice President Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer
Wyoming Medical Center (WMC) has retained Summit Talent Group to conduct a national Senior Vice President Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer Search (PCS/CNO).
WMC is the most comprehensive and complex hospital in the state of Wyoming, serving as the regional referral center with a population of 250,000. The organization, encompassing 217 beds, 1,125 employees, 233 providers in more than 75 specialties, is the region’s only Level II Trauma Center. WMC is a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Certification center and is nationally recognized by the American College of Cardiology as a heart center with “Door to Balloon” time ranked in top 10 percent in the nation.
The PCS/CNO demonstrates the highest standards of professional demeanor and is expert in all aspects of quality and safety, benchmarking the nation’s evidence-based outcomes. Critical to this role is strong financial acumen, a penchant for measurement and process improvement, with a particular emphasis in achieving sustained results with labor productivity and cost.
WMC values collaboration with the nursing and the medical staff, promoting clinical excellence and enhancing the patient experience. In doing so, the PCS/CNO will be instrumental in fostering a culture of employee engagement throughout the organization, mentoring and training staff and offering opportunities for growth. In addition, the incumbent will be visible in the community, facilitating programs and partnerships for health and wellness.
Reporting to the WMC President and CEO, and serving on the executive management team of the hospital, overseeing approximately 700 staff in the areas of: pharmacy, radiology, lab, OR, acute therapy, case management, ED/ Trauma, sleep/respiratory and all nursing units. Further, the PCS/CNO interfaces with the WMC Board of Directors, providing reports and strategic updates as requested.
The ideal candidate is a Master’s prepared RN with 10 years of progressive leadership in a hospital setting. Magnet journey and lean six sigma principles are highly valued.

As a Vice President of Summit Talent Group, Mary Louise focuses on candidate development and management of the full-cycle candidate interview process, including visits to the client site. She is also responsible for leading the debriefing sessions with hiring executives and interview teams to narrow down the candidate slate. Adept at utilizing the Candidate Assessment Form as well as The McQuaig System ™, Mary Louise is able to effectively summarize feedback about each potential candidate to ensure that clients attract and retain the very best person for the job.
